MyScribe

MyScribe ("we", "our", or "the app") is a gamified intelligence platform that combines AI-powered note-taking, evolving Scribe creature companions, and a real-time geospatial intelligence globe. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at myscribe.tech and our mobile applications.

Information We Collect

Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through third-party authentication providers (Google or Discord). We do not store your passwords — authentication is handled entirely by these providers via OAuth.

Content You Create. We store the documents you upload (PDFs, images, audio, video, URLs, text), the notes and research your Scribes generate, intelligence briefs, tweet drafts, mission configurations, and any other content you create within the platform.

Scribe Data. We store your Scribe creatures' evolution data, XP scores, cognitive function profiles, mission history, and research outputs. This data is tied to your account and used to personalize your experience.

Usage Data. We collect basic analytics about how you interact with the app, including pages visited, features used, and session duration. We do not use third-party tracking pixels or sell this data to advertisers.

Globe & Layer Data. When you use the SENTINEL globe, data layer requests are made to external APIs (USGS, NASA FIRMS, DefiLlama, BIS, FRED, and others). These requests are made through our servers — your identity is not shared with these data providers.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the MyScribe platform and all its features
To generate AI-powered research notes, intelligence briefs, and tweet drafts using your uploaded content and selected topics
To evolve your Scribe creatures based on research activity and cognitive function scoring
To fetch real-time data for the SENTINEL globe's 31+ data layers
To post tweets to X (Twitter) on your behalf when you explicitly authorize and trigger a post
To send you important service updates (we do not send marketing emails)

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate MyScribe:

Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
Neon (PostgreSQL) — database storage
OpenAI — AI-powered analysis, note generation, and tweet drafting. Content you submit for analysis is sent to OpenAI's API. Refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for how they handle API data.
Google & Discord OAuth — authentication only; we receive your name, email, and profile picture
X (Twitter) API — only used when you explicitly connect your X account and choose to post tweets
Cesium Ion — 3D globe rendering (no personal data shared)
External data APIs (USGS, NASA, DefiLlama, BIS, FRED, ForexFactory, etc.) — used to populate globe data layers. No personal data is shared with these services.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Neon PostgreSQL database hosted in a secure cloud environment. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. Authentication tokens are handled via secure HTTP-only sessions. We do not store your OAuth provider passwords.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your content (notes, documents, Scribe data, missions, tweets) is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual notes, missions, and tweet drafts at any time from within the app. To request complete account deletion including all associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

MyScribe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of MyScribe after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
